FCC Medio Ambiente, SA is the parent company of Focsa Services (UK) Limited. and in turn, it is the Environmental Services Division of Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas, SA (FCC) incorporated in Spain, being one of Spain’s largest construction and services companies, and the clear leader in the environmental services market since gaining its first contract in Barcelona in 1903. FCC trades on the Madrid stock exchange under the symbol FCC.MC.

In the waste sector, FCC has established itself as a market leader not only in size but also in technical innovation. The Company has been a pioneer in the use of natural gas (since 1991) and electricity (since 1994) to power refuse collection vehicles and was one of the first companies to adopt dual compartment vehicles for the simultaneous collection of recyclables and residual waste. In the treatment area, the Company is active in exploring new technologies and operates numerous anaerobic digesters as well as a number of mechanical-biological treatment (MBT) plants.
